My husband and I work out at Orangetheory together. On paper, we couldn’t be more different. He’s a former professional athlete—strong, competitive, and disciplined from years of training. I’m a mom who spent the last few years pouring everything into our family and not nearly enough into myself. But somehow, in the same 60-minute class, we both walk away feeling challenged, accomplished, and stronger than when we walked in.
That’s the magic of Orangetheory. It’s more than just a gym—it’s a place where two people at completely different stages in their fitness journey can still sweat side by side and get exactly what they need.
He pushes all-out speeds on the treadmill; I power walk with incline. He powers through heavy reps on the floor; I focus on form and consistency. And the best part? Both efforts matter. Both are valid. The workout is designed to meet us where we are—and help us push just a little bit further.
We don’t compete. We encourage.
For me, Orangetheory has been about reclaiming time for myself. After years of caring for others, I needed something that was mine. A space to grow, breathe, sweat, and feel strong in my own skin again. The supportive coaches, the motivating atmosphere, and the science behind every workout have helped me find that strength.
For him, it’s about staying sharp and maintaining the discipline that was once his career—but in a fun, community-focused setting that keeps him engaged.
We leave every gym session tired, but fulfilled. We talk about the workout on the drive home. We laugh about who had the most Splat Points. We feel more connected—not just physically, but emotionally.
Orangetheory gives us common ground in a world that often pulls couples in different directions. It’s not just about getting fit. It’s about showing up for ourselves—and each other. It is more than a gym.
